Karkal, May 1: The cops posted in the check post at the outskirts of city arrested a car driver and confiscated Indian currency of Rs 21.26 lac.

The arrested has been identified as Keshav Nayak.  As per the code of poll conduct, no money can be transported without proper documents till assembly elections on Sunday May 5.

The rural police registered a case in this regard.

It was not known for whom the money belonged, because the driver seemed to be giving distorting statements.
