Mangalore: Chaotic scenes were witnessed during a Congress protest held at Gurupur on Sunday, January 12 urging for  the arrest of RSS leader Dr  Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat.

It is learnt that during the protest, Congress leader Janardhan Poojary was addressing the protestors but rather than sticking to the subject of the protest, that is to demand the arrest of RSS leader Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, he spoke on issues such as Aadhar card and Ration card. He even acknowledged that he had spoken to the CM on the Prabhaker Bhat issue.

The agitators were however displeased with  Janardhan Poojary  as he did not stick to the subject and a section of members of the Congress insisted that he spoke on the  subject. Soon there was chaos when  Poojary stated that he was the one who initiated the demand to arrest Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat. At the same time he declared that he will not be able to speak the way Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat has spoken.

The situation got tense and half of the members started accusing Janardhan Poojary in foul language. Some even stepped on to the dais from where Poojary was addressing the gathering, This resulted in a fist fighting and the police had to resort to a lathi charge. MLA Mohiuddin Bava, Ivan D’Souza and others were present at the protest.
