Mangalore: The birth anniversary of Indias first prime minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was observed at district Congress office here on Thursday November 14.
Felicitating the legend, Mangalore south MLA J R Lobo offered a floral tribute to the photograph of Jawaharlal Nehru along with other dignitaries on the dais.
After the honors J R Lobo said, “Being the first Prime Minister of the nation, Nehru fought for Indian Independence and thereafter led the nation towards development. It is he who gave importance to industrial development and developed a social change in India.”
He advised the party members to follow his principles and contribute similarly towards the development of the country.
“Jawaharlal Nehru is among the prominent figures of Congress, he has founded as well as strengthened the party and we must also work on his principles,” he added.
Kodijal Ibrahim, in-charge district president, KPCC secretary Ivan D’Souza, T K Sudheer, Ashraf, Ivan D’Souza, Sabitha Misquith, Farooq Ullal, Narayan Kotian were present for the occasion.
