Mangalore : Monappa Bhandari, MLC has  charged the  Congress politicians of misusing power to rowdy sheet  activists of the BJP and Hindu organisations in the backdrop of the Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking at a press meet at Sanghaniketan on March 15, Saturday, he said the  Congress party was  engaged in the task of offending and abusing Hindu organisation activists  over some  contentious issues.

He further charged the  three Congress ministers and two MLAs of misusing police machinery, disrupting communal harmony and then passing the blame on the BJP.

Bhandari further alleged that the Congress was conspiring to include  the names of around 300 Hindu activists from various taluks of the district in the rowdy sheet and thereby hinder the  election campaigning of the BJP.

Strongly defending the Hindu activists, Bhandari said they have been always fighting against anti-social elements but have never tried to disrupt peace. He said the BJP strongly opposed any   move to rowdy sheet them and alleged the Congress was making such efforts just to win the Lok Sabha elections.

Nalin to file nomination on March 20: Monappa Bhandari informed on the occasion that BJP candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel will file his nomination on March 20.

BJP leaders Sanjeeva Muttandoor, Diwaker Samani, Kishore Rai and others were present.
