BJP has no moral right to defend its candidate in district: Rai

Bantwal : “The BJP which is seeking votes in the name of a leader who is an accused in Gujarat riots case has no moral  right to  defend its  candidate in the district,” said DK district in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai.

He was addressing a public meeting held at BC Road on March 15, Saturday morning as part of Samarasyakkagi Congress Nadige Padayatra organised on behalf of the Panemangalore and Bantwal Block Congress Committees. Continuing, he  challenged BJP candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel to prove if at all he has secured any additional grants to his constituency excluding his MP grants.

He also urged the people to be cautious about the BJP  men who now going to the people seeking support after  reinducting into the party those corrupt people who had once quit the party for the sake of power.

UT Khader, State Health Minister said only the Congress candidate B Janardhan Poojari can be an effective voice of the people of the district in the Parliament.

Referring to the Kalladka incident, he said the Government would take action against the elements which tried to disrupt peace.

Congress candidate B Janardhan Poojari who also spoke, said India can be a super power when peace prevails everywhere.

Congress leaders Ivan D’Souza, Kanachur Monu, Chandraprakash Shetty, Mamatha Gatti, MS Mohammad, AC Bhandari, Kripa Amar Alva, Piyus Rodrigues, Harikrishna Bantwal,  Padmashekhar Jain, Abbas Ali, Panemangalore Block Congress President  and others were present.

The Padayatra was taken out from BC Road to Vagga via Talapady. The Chende teams and the dolls added glitter to the padayatra which was held amid tight police security.
