Udupi: The CMC monthly annual general meeting highlighted the issues to task force against natural calamities during the monsoon.


Commissioner Srikanth Rao said three teams will be formed and each team would include an engineer, health inspector and two CMC officials. The teams would monitor across Malpe, Manipal and Udupi, he informed.
Member – M R Nayak said that even though actions are taken to provide drinking water everywhere Sheeribeedu and Tenkaptete wards have not received water since last two days. There is also complaint that worms are found in the tap water and public fear to use it for drinking purposes.
Answering to it, Commissioner said the water sample is sent for laboratory testing. “There is no foul smell in the water, further we are waiting for the report.”
MLA Pramodh Madhawaraj said that the people who are losing the land following the land acquisition for the Parkala road widening process will be given compensation. CMC will receive Rs 45 lakh as total amount under the scheme, he asserted.
