City Gears up for Ramotsav at Nehru Maidan from April 19 to 21

Mangalore, Apr 8: At the joint auspicHP, Bajrangdal and Durgavahini organizations, three-day ‘Ramotsav’ will be held at Nehru maidan, here from April 19 to April 21, said Ramotsav Committee president Pushparaj Jain.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Addressing the media persons, during a press conference held at Sharada Vidyalaya here on Monday April 9, Pushparaj said the preparations are under way to celebrate twelfth Ramotsav.  The artists of Swarna Arts – Mulky are working on creating a large model of Rama Mandir that will be placed at Nehru maidan.  The ceremony to lay the large model ws held on Monday April 8 morning.

A life-size statue of Ravana will be erected at the venue as part of Ramotsav on April 18.  The religious celebrations and cultural programmes will be held through three-day Ramotsav.  The religious leaders and veteran social activists will participate in the celebrations.  The celebrations will conclude by setting ablaze the effigy of Ravana on April 21 at 8.00pm, said Pushparaj.

Shivanand Mendon, Jitendra Kottary, Manohar Tulaja Ram, Krishnamurti, Jagdish Shenava, Sharan Pumpwell and others were present at the press conference.
