Central Reserve Force arrives on Poll Duty

Bangalore, Apr 8: The precautionary measures are being taken to avoid any untoward incidents during the upcoming assembly elections at the limits of Brahan Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).  Five platoons of central reserve force have already arrived in metro, said metropolitan police commissioner Raghavendra Auradkar.

Addressing the media persons during a press conference held here on Monday April 8, Raghavendra said that over 300 check posts were erected in the limits of 103 police stations in the metro, while the checking of vehicles will go on till the end of elections. All the vehicles including vehicles registered in other states will be subjected for check up and also physical check on all occupants.  The check posts will function around-the-clock, said Raghavendra.

Any suspicious behavior of occupants will be reported to the higher officers whilst the vehicle check up is in progress.  The five platoons of central reserve force will provide security in communally most-sensitive areas besides to different political party offices.  The additional security has been provided to key political party leaders residences’, as the ticket aspirants are likely create trouble.  The march past of central reserve police and policemen on poll duty will be held at the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of 7 divisions.

The high-alert has been issued to canine-squad, bomb-squad, fire brigade and ambulance services, said Raghavendra.  The mandatory orders have been issued to bars and liquor shops to shut their shops by 11.00pm, added Raghavendra.
