Udupi: The Center of Indian Trade Union (CITU) staged a protest for demanding to implement CBT decision for increase the wage and pension, recently.


A memorandum was submitted to the minister of Department of Labour through Reginal Provident Fund Commissioner.
Their demands included increase in the monthly wage ceiling of Rs. 6500 to Rs.15, 000 and increase in the monthly pension to minimum Rs. 1000 under Employee Pension scheme 1995.
Earlier the Central Board of trustees of EPFO on 5th February this year, a decision was taken to raise the monthly wages by amending the EPF scheme 1952, so that more workers would be brought under social security programme, thus the demand comes forth.
