Mangalore:The Nagarika Hitharakshana Vedike of Naringana staged a protest in front of the GP office here on October 29, Tuesday opposing the Panchayat decision to permit a bar in Thaudugoli Junction.
Speaking on the occasion, SFI leader Jeevan Kuttar accused even health minister of backing the decision to open the bar in Thaudugoli. Criticizing the local elected representatives for being mum on the issue, he charged them of favouring the bar owners. He further feared that the harmonious atmosphere in the village may be affected with the opening of the bar.
Imtiyaz, DYFI city unit President, Santosh Kumar, Secretary, Rafique, writer Ismath Pajeer and several others participated in the protest.
