Bantwal: One person was critically injured in a collision between a truck and KSRTC bus at Ubbabettu  Banbila, near Vogga, on Bantwal – Kadoor national highway on Wednesday October 2.

The deceased has been identified as thirty-eight-year-old truck driver Yousuf, a resident of Nagri in Sajipa Mooda village.

The poultry truck was plying from Bantwal to Beltangady, when it collided with oncoming KSRTC bus.  As a result, both the automobiles were damaged.  The locals tried and managed to rescue Yousuf from the wreckage.  He was taken to a private hospital in Mangalore for better treatment.  The bus passengers escaped with bruises.

The traffic was hindered for a few hours till the traffic cops from Bantwal rural police station arrived at the spot.

The police registered a case in this regard.
