Bunder police arrest three for bike robbery

Mangalore: Three persons were arrested by the Bunder police, on the charges of bike-robbery on Tuesday August 6. The police recovered six stolen bikes from them.

The three arrested bike-lifters have been identified as 22-year-old SM Mohammad Naushad and 28-year-old Mohammad Faisal, both residents of Kumble; and 31-year-old Abdul Majeed a resident of Kasargod.

During a regular traffic inspection, the three were caught while traveling on a Bajaj CT 100. The inspection which was headed by MC Madan of Crime Branch at Bunder police station questioned the trio and asked for the vehicle paper.

As they did not have the necessary documents the police grew suspicious, and they found out that the bike was stolen.

Further interrogation revealed that in the past three years, the group has stolen bikes from Mangalore, Puttur, Honnavar and around Kasargod.

They used to sell these bikes through Abdul Majeed, who was a scrap dealer.

The operation was done under the guidance of Police commissioner R Hitendra, DCP Jagadeesh, DCP Vishnuvardhan, and other officials of the Mangalore city police.
