Mangalore: A road accident claimed the life of a medical student from Bagalkot when his bullet bike crashed into the divider at Bejai Kapikad on Sunday January 26.

The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Akshay Godi who was travelling along with his friend 20-year-old Sanjeev H Gowda from Hassan on the pillion seat.

It has been learnt that the duo had come to Mangalore from Bangalore to attend an old student’s reunion. The mishap took place Akshay was riding a Bullet bike with Sanjeev as the pillion rider. However, when they neared the Bejai Kapikad petrol bunk, Akshay  lost control over the bike and bumped into the divider.

Both of them sustained grave injuries.While Akshay succumbed to his wounds soon after, Sanjeev is  recovering.

West traffic police have registered a case.
