Mangalore: The ‘Bharata Gellisi’ public rally, which will be addressed by BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Tuesday February 18, addressing the same a press meet was called to inform about the arrangements for the mega-event on Monday February 17.


BJP district president Pratap Simha Nayak addressing the media personnel said, “Dakshina Kannada is experiencing a historical stride on political grounds, with the up-coming rally. Every detail has been adhered by the volunteers as well as leaders of BJP.”
“Around one and half lakh people inclusive of 15000 to 25000 students are expected to be the part of this mammoth rally. There will be food facilities at the venue. The transportation service for people visiting the rally from around the district is also met”, he added.
He also informed that parking will be banned within a radius of 1km from the. Parking along the roadside on the route of the VIP vehicles is also barred on the day of the event. Parking facilities have been made at Ullal nursing home, Yemmerkere Maidan, Vaman Nayak Nandigudde Maidan, Morgansgate Maidan, Yekkur Maidan, a maidan near Kulur Renault showroom etc.
Moreover he also updated about the timings of the event. He said the programme will start at 2.00 pm wherein national songs will be sung by Shankar Shanbhogue. At 3.00 pm the BJP leaders are scheduled to address the gathering and the BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is expected to reach the venue and address the audience at 3.30 pm, accordingly four LED’s inside the venue and two LED’s outside the venue will be put-up for better view.
Around 35 departments have been made for the event, under which 2000 volunteers are working. Blocks are been made at the venue which will be attended by BJP Mahila Morcha and BJP Yuva Morcha for any amenities required during the event.
Along with Narendra Modi, Ananth Kumar the national general secretary of BJP, the former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa who recently rejoined the BJP, BJP state president Prahlad Joshi and Sathish Kumar BJP joint secretary will be present on the occasion. The Rally will be held at Mangalore and Davangere which is projected to be the mega-events of BJP.
BJP MLC Bhanuprakash and other BJP leaders such as Sunil Kumar, Yogesh Bhat, Banu Prakash and others were present for the press meet.
On the other hand the security personnel deployed at the venue were seen making required arrangements.





As per the city police commissioner R Hitendra said that seven officers of DCP/SP rank, 25 ACPs/DySPs, 67 police inspectors,157sub-inspectors, 211 assistant sub-inspectors, 1,450 head constables and police constables, 221 women police constables, 135 traffic police staff, 300 home guards, altogether 2,573 police personnel from the city and other districts will be deployed for the rally.
