Mangaluru: A man was killed on Saturday after a private bus knocked his bike down at Lalbagh here on Saturday.

According to the police, the deceased is Kiran Kotian (40), a resident of Kudupu. He works for Hindustan Lever Limited, Sulthan Bathery, the police said.

A service bus which was plying towards Lalbagh hit the rear of the bike, which was moving from Ladyhill.

He breathed his last in the hospital, the police informed. He was riding alone.

The intensity of the accident was so much that the bike was thrown for a distance of about 10 metres.

Mangalore Traffic (West) police have registered a case.
