Mangaluru: Health and Family Welfare minister U.T Khader said that the bike ambulance will come on the roads by the end of January. Out of 30 bike ambulances which are approved, ten will be introduced first in Bengaluru, he told reporters on Tuesday.

The minister said that the project is aimed to avoid delay in shifting the patient to the hospital, due to traffic jam. “The two-wheeler ambulance will have an oxygen cylinder, besides an equipped medical kit will be enough to give immediate treatment for those injured in accidents”, he said. The introduction of motorcycle ambulances will be able to save patient’s time.

Besides, he also said that state government is in talks with at least three companies who have come forward to introduce air ambulances. The talk is still in the initial stage. The project may get complete shape by October, he stated.
