Mangalore: Yet another case of smuggling has come to light at the Mangalore International Airport. A passenger was arrested for trying to smuggle Rs. 10 lakhs in cash to Dubai. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officials have taken the accused to custody on Saturday December 28.

The arrested passenger has been identified as 40-year-old Abdul Rashid from Bhatkal.

The passengers to Dubai were ready to board the late night Air India Express flight on Saturday when the officials of DRI received information about the smuggling attempt. On checking, they found the cash in Abdul Rashid’s trolley bag.

Investigations are underway.
