15-feet long python caught by Maroli Kembar residents

Mangalore: A 15-feet long python was caught by the residents of Maroli Kembar in the outskirts of the city, recently.

Informing this to newskarnataka.com, Rohan D’Silva, a local resident said the python had been wandering in the locality since some time and  had even devoured pets like dogs and cats as was evident from the frequent missing of the animals.

According to Rohan, a resident of the area named  Ashok D’Silva recently found his  dog was killed  with only the torso of the animal found.  Rohan said a few days later, Ashok saw a python crossing the road when he was passing that way. Certain that the python was responsible for the killing  of the dog, the curious residents began a search operation, Rohan said adding a group of people including  Vasudeva Shetty, Raju Pais, Ronny D’Silva, Chandra and Ashok D’Silva  were successful in tracing  the python and trapping it. Rohan also informed that the python has been handed over to the Pilikula zoo.
