Basadi burglary case to be entrusted to CBI?

Moodbidri:Sri Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji of Sri Jain Mutt, Moodbidri has said that former union minister Janardhan Poojari has informed him that he has requested the Chief Minister to hand over the Siddantha Darshana Mandir burglary case to the CBI at the  earliest.

In a press communiqué, the seer said Poojari informed him regarding this on October 29, Tuesday. The seer also said that he has information that a high level central official has already interacted with the investigation officials on the progress of investigation directed towards recovering the seven stolen idols that have not yet been recovered.

Even local MLA and State Minister  Abhayachandra Jain and Home Minister KJ George had apprised the Chief Minister of the  need to give more importance to investigation into the case. Even the Chattisgarh Government, on its part has agreed for a CBI probe.

No narco analysis test : Meanwhile, the Moodbidri court in its ruling on  October 30, Wednesday has directed against conducting narco analysis test of  the three main accused in the case.  Earlier, the investigation officials had moved the Moodbidri JMFC  seeking permission for a narco analysis test of the prime accused  Santosh Das alias Ghanashyam and Durg jeweler Rajaji Sanchethi.

However, Nagesh Shetty and Arun Bangera, the defense lawyers had filed objection to  the same and had argued that a narco analysis test was not advisable at a time when the police have already filed the charge sheet.
