Bantwal : In a heart rending incident, the wife of an ex-serviceman has allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a well after pushing   her  six year old daughter into a well late night on July 10, Wednesday at Melkarugudde in Bantwal.

The deceased is Pratima (33), wife of ex-serviceman Naveen Kumar and his daughter Diya(6). Bantwal Town Police have registered a case and are enquiring Naveen Kumar in connection with the incident.

Police said there was a fight between the couple on  Wednesday night after Naveen  advised Pratima against receiving late night calls and messages on her mobile phone.  Later, at around midnight, Pratima is learnt to have left home along with her daughter and ended her life after pushing her daughter into the well.
