Bantwal BJP stages dharna against Congress ‘goondaism’

Bantwal : The Bantwal assembly constituency unit of the BJP staged a dharna in front of the Taluk Office at BC Road on Tuesday May 6  in protest against the deterioration of law and order scenario and also to condemn the alleged goondaism resorted to by the Congress.

The protestors shouted slogans denouncing Congress leaders. The dharna was held till 4 pm on Tuesday. Later, the protestors submitted a memorandum to the Governor through the Tahsildar.

Earlier, addressing the protestors, District BJP President Pratap Simha Nayak alleged that the goondaism by Congress leaders created an atmosphere of fear in Bantwal, the home constituency of District in-charge Minister. He said the BJP will launch a continuous fight against attempts to disrupt peace and warned of a severe protest if Congress did not mend ways.

A Rukmaya Poojary, District BJP President,  Nagaraj Shetty, former minister, Umanath Kotian, District BJP Spokesperson,  Sulochana GK Bhat, State BJP Vice President,  G Anand, Bantwal unit BJP Chief, party leaders including Sharada Rai, Sucharitha Shetty, Balakrishna Shetty and others were present.
