Mangalore :The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) on Tuesday awarded A grade to Mangalore University.

The accreditation and the grade would be valid for five years from Tuesday. NAAC has announced the grade in its website.
The university has obtained 3.09 CGPA (cumulative grade point average) points. The minimum points required for A grade is three points CGPA. A NAAC team had visited the university in February.
Mangalore University has been graded as the third best rated educational institution in the state while St Philomena’s College, Mysore and Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College, Bangalore stands first and second in the list.
A six-member NAAC peer team headed by Dileep N Deobagkar, former VC, Goa University had visited the University for four-days from February 17 for re-accreditation process with P Sujatha Shanbhag as the NAAC assessment coordinator.
