Newskarnataka-Belthangady
Belthangady : Belthangady MLA Vasanth Bangera has informed that he has met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and has submitted a memorandum to him requesting for a CBI probe into the Sowjanya rape and murder case as the people no longer have trust in the ongoing CID probe.
Speaking to reporters here on October 25, Bangera said even villagers of Dharmasthala and Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade have requested him in this regard.
Bangera said he has also requested the CM to immediately suspend the then Belthangady SI Yogish Kumar who had failed in discharging his duties when the incident took place. Bangera blamed Yogish Kumar for the incident taking a serious turn.
“Even the CID officials failed to investigate taking into view the suspicion of the public. If DySP Jagadish who was made the investigation officer only got himself transferred, the later SP Siri Gowri too completed investigation within a couple of days and concluded that the earlier report was right.
The CID investigation should be stopped and the case be entrusted to the CBI, Bangera demanded.
Vasantha BK, Baby Suvarna, Chandu L were also present.
