Mysore: The unexpected rains on Friday afternoon put the general life out of gear. Although the sky was covered with thick clouds on Friday morning, it rained heavily for nearly 2 hours at 2.00pm. The rains across the city flooded the low-lying areas, while the slum dwellers and people living on shanties faced the brunt of flash floods. The motorists struggled to negotiate their automobiles in the flooded roads. The traffic snarls were witnessed on roads passing through low-lying areas. The city-folks depended on auto rickshaws and city buses to reach their destinations.






The business in the wholesale market and enterprises along the road of K R circle, D Devaraj Urs Road, Makkaji circle, Sayyajirao Road, Irvin Road, Ashoka Road, Dhanwantari road were affected owing to torrential rains that lashed in the city.
The traffic was hindered for nearly one-and-a-half-hour, owing to flash floods on Hunsoor Road near Paduvarahalli, Hootagalli Housing Board Colony, Shantinagar, Udayagiri, Ghousia Nagar, Giriya Bovipalya, N R mohalla, Kesare Rajendra Nagar, Sheshadri Iyer Road, R M C Circle.
The two-wheeler riders and pedestrians took shelter underneath the trees and in front of shops located besides the road. The rains that used to arrive during nights put the general life out of gear as it arrived during the day.
