Ullal: Residents of Shastanagar Third Cross coming under Ward 9 of the Kotekar Gram Panchayat are sore over the Panchayat authorities for not repairing a road in the area the condition of which  has remained deplorable since the past five years.

The five km stretch of road  linking Madyaru (Nadaaru) to Paaneeru has nearly 300  houses alongside it. There are also several agricultural lands and residents have been struggling to traverse through this road, the condition of which turns worse during monsoon.

Though two kms stretch  of road was asphalted two years ago with the help of MLA grants, its condition has reverted to the old state making it extremely difficult for pedestrians and motorists alike.

The road is also narrow  and only one vehicle can pass here at a time. With fields located on either side, any motorist who veers his vehicle to  the side of the road to give way for an oncoming vehicle, is sure to land in the ditch.A month ago,  two bike riders were also injured here after their two-wheeler rolled into the nearby field.
