Mangalore : There has been a new twist to the ASI Srikala harassment case. In a latest development, the Third Additional JMFC Court which took up for hearing the petition filed by Srikala, has directed the Pandeshwar Women’s Police Station to register an FIR against ACP TR Jagannath who is facing charges of sexually harassing the ASI. The Court has also directed the station to submit a report.
Here it is worth mentioning that the nine-member Committee formed by Mangalore Police Commissioner to investigate into the case following a complaint lodged by ASI Srikala in May had given a clean chit to the ACP. The Committee was headed by ACP Kavitha.
However, the complainant ASI Srikala approached the court unhappy with the report. She has also moved the Women’s Commission alleging that a head constable of the station was also supporting the ACP.
