“Arso” fortnightly released to enlighten, educate society

Mangalore: Prominent Konkani poet, writer and critic Henry Mendonca, also acknowledged as HM Pernal launched “Arso” a fortnightly eight page tabloid that would cater to uplift the society, on Thursday November 28 at Milagres Parish hall.

After the success of kittall.com, which is devoted exclusively for Konkani literature since the past three years, HM Pernal is entering the print media  with an objective to have an enhanced reach. His initiation “Arso” is with an aim to enlighten the rural areas of the society where internet is not accessible.

HM Pernal the chief-editor of “Arso” said, “The tabloid is a platform to discuss social issues, it will encourage constructive analysis and gratify people’s perception on current affairs and crucial subjects.”

Further he illustrated on the ethics, vision and ideologies of the tabloid and concluded by saying that the main aim of “Arso” is to educate the society and uplift the humanity.

Well-known Kannada writer Dr Na D’Souza who has won the Bala Puraskar award of the Academy for his novel, ‘Mulugadeya Oorige Bandavaru’ released the tabloid “Arso”, in the presence of Fr Richard Coelho, Administrator of Fr Muller Medical College.

After the release, the eminent Kannada writer Dr Na D’Souza said, “The initiation, “Arso” is a benchmark that will widen different aspects of the society and portray various ideologies and perceptions to the world. A Newspaper is successful when it instigates people’s welfare, thus an approach in the interest for the people of the society is important.”

“There are prominent personalities who  are not educated in Journalism but mastered the skills of it, like  Mahatma Gandhi and Lankesh. I hope that the organization which is diminutive today reaches to greater heights in future”, he added.

On this occasion  Managing Director of Rohan Corporation, Rohan Monteiro was felicitated and acknowledged for winning “Rachana Award.”

In his presidential address, Fr Richard Coelho, Administrator of Fr Muller Medical College said, “A writer must impose analytical mindset and be unbiased to looms of the society. There should be an unambiguous vision and intent, wherein patience must nurture.”

 In addition to it, Fr Richard Coelho congratulated and wishes success to the new venture of  HM Pernal. The welcome speech was delivered by Titus Noronha.
