Newskarnataka – Karkala

Karkala: Believe it or not, a 10 feet long anthill has grown on one of the ballot  boxes used during the previous gram panchayat elections and kept in a safe location in the taluk office premises here.

The scene was noticed by the taluk office staff when they opened the locked up room adjacent to the canteen just a few days ago. The staff are now worried and are working on how they would  get the ballot box out safely.

It is now being said that the failure of the office staff to maintain the ballot box used once in five years is the reason for the present problem.
