Another Bahubali statue ready in Karkala ; to be installed in Jarkhand

Karkala : The sculpting of another Bahubali statue at Karikallu in Karkala is complete. This 16 feet tall monolithic statue  is to be installed in Jarkhand and is likely to be transported from here in the next few days.

Marimuttu Acharya, a sculptor of Tamil origin who has been residing in Karkala since the past several years is the major sculptor. The statue has come up at Miyaru Jodukatte Mangalapade which is  surrounded  by black stones.

The statue which is a fruit of the toil  of a team of five sculptors led by Marimuttu  has been readied in eight months and weighs around 15 to 16 tonnes. Others in the team of sculptors are Rajendra Acharya and Prashanth Kumar Nitte.

The stone required  for the statue, which weighed 28 tonnes was procured from Shira in Tumkur. The statue is slated to be transported on June 8 after Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji of Moodbidri Jain Mutt has a look at it. It is likely to be transported to Jarkhand via train.
