He was speaking at an interactive session on E-Governance initiatives – Recent Developments under K-Vat Act’ (online uploading of purchase and sales statements),here on Wednesday May 28.

The programme was jointly organised by the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and the Mangalore Chapter of the Institute of Charted Accountants of India (ICAI).

As far as framing indirect tax policy is concerned, the states of Rajasthan, Punjab, Gujarat and Maharashtra are well ahead of Karnataka, he informed.
Ajith Seth further informed that the Goods and Service Tax (GST) likely to be ready by April 2015 has been approved by all state governments and parties. All indirect taxes on goods and services will be replaced by GST once it is implemented, he informed.
