Mangalore: The Sahodaya Association of St. Aloysius College(Autonomous), Mangalore is hosting “World Disability Week” with the theme – “Redefining Ability” from December 2 to 6 on the campus.
Students have put up various handmade posters throughout campus in an effort to create awareness about the different types of disabilities. A signature campaign was also launched to encourage the students to show their support for the cause of the disabled.
Badges supporting the cause were sported proudly by several students. Martin Joseph, a student said, “I had no idea that disabled people could perform so well in all spheres. This program has really opened my eyes.”
The achievements made by famous individuals like Loius Braille and Helen Keller who accepted their disability as a challenge and achieved big, were highlighted as part of the Week.
The World Disability Week will conclude with a street play on St Aloysius campus on December 6,Friday.
