Belthangady: Swami Dharmapalanatha of Mangalore branch of Adi Chunchanagiri Mahasamsthanam and district Okkaliga Seva Sangha leaders visited the distressed family of Ujire college student Sowajnya here on Friday November 1.
Swami Dharmapalanatha consoled the parents of deceased Sowjanya and said that the truth will prevail sooner or later.
He further said that Okkaliga Gowda community and Adi Chunchanagiri mutt is with Sowjanya’s family which is waging a struggle for justice. Her family should not be disturbed by anyone of the villagers and if at all anyone boycotts the family, it would be condemned, he said. He expressed displeasure over slow progress in awarding justice citing the speedy justice done in New Delhi case. CBI probe will unravel the truth, the Seer added.
Beltangady taluk Okkaliga Sangh President Kushalappa Gowda also spoke on the occasion. Sowjanya’s mother Kusumavathi and grandfather Babu Gowda said that there are about 115 Okkaliga Gowda families in the area. If people of different castes, creed and religions stood by them in consoling, majority of the Okkaliga Gowda community had distanced us, they said with tears in eyes.
Both of them further said that their statements were not recorded in CID report. They were not involved in defaming Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala. The truth will prevail only with CBI probe. When they decided to meet Swamijis of their own community in connection with the case, the people belonging to their own community asked them to seek advice from Dharmadhikari Heggade thereby hindered their earnest efforts. They wondered, why they got to seek advice from Heggade to plead Swamiji of their own community,questioned both Babu Gowda and Kusumavati.
