Mangaluru: Desha Premi Sanghatanegala Okkuta organised a protest march seeking justice for murdered RTI activist Vinayak Baliga, from Baliga’s residence near Kalakunj to Police Commissioner’s Office, Pandeshwar on Monday, May 2.

Addressing the gathering rationalist Narendra Nayak said that there are hands that are working very hard to shut the case.
Taking a dig at the Mangaluru police, Nayak said that it is rather matter of shame that the department could not lay its hands on prime accused and NaMo Brigade Founder Naresh Shenoy.
“We know where Dawood and Chota Rajan are, but we don’t know where Naresh Shenoy is! We won’t forget Baliga’s murder. We will protest till we get justice,” said Nayak informing that on May 6 a massive protest would be held in Bengaluru Town Hall seeking justice and if that will not yield fruits, then the Okkuta will even stage a stir in Delhi.
It was a heart wrenching scene to see Vinayak Baliga’s sisters pray in front of Venkataramana Temple to give justice for his murder and to accept his sacrifice.
Upon reaching Commissioner Office Narendra Nayak said, “Application for anticipatory bail applied by Naresh shenoy has been rejected by the court. We have faith in India’s judiciary, but we want the police department to speed up the probe,” he said.
DYFI District President Muneer Katipalla said that Naresh Shenoy is not a professional criminal, still police couldn’t find him. It is a big insult to Ministry of home and police department.
“We don’t want any condolence speeches; instead we want Naresh Shenoy and his followers to get arrested. We still have some hope on police department, and we hope that police will not disappoint us,” Muneer said.
Actvist Vidya Dinaker, DYFI members and others were present
