Moodabidri: In a tragic incident an aged man was killed by an unknown person here at Nooyi Darkas in Padukonage on Wednesday April 30.

The deceased has been identified as 70-year-old Sanjeeva Poojary.  Sanjeeva had been residing at his son-in-law’s house for the past three years.He had taken his cow for grazing on Wednesday morning at 9am,when he was killed. He had also taken a knife and shaving items with him.

It is learnt that his son-in-law, Shekar found the body where the cow was tied when he went out searching for Sanjeeva, as he did not return for lunch.

The reason for the murder is not known it is said that Sanjeeva Poojary had no enemies.Some reports said that on the same day an unknown person had attacked Fathima wife of Sulaiman a fish dealer from the locality and there is a probability that the same person might have attacked Sanjeeva as well.
