Karkala: The trembling thunder claimed the life of two persons, when they were working at Ballagoli Kukkintaya and Kodamanittaya temple here in Kallaputtige near Kambala in Moodubidri.





The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Dinesh Bhandary the only son of Sitaram Bhandary and Puttamma Bhandary residents of Nallur.
After the death of her husband Puttamma Bhandary was staying along with her unmarried son Dinesh.
On the fateful day Dinesh was working along with his co-workers Prathap, Ashwath, Chantu and Gangadhar.
Dinesh was busy doing the renovating work at the temple when a thunder struck him and his fellow Gangadhar, a resident of Aliyur.
Both died instantly as the lighting struck while several other were injured in the incident and werte admitted in the near0by hospital.
The Tahshildar – Babu Devadiga, Income Tax Supervisor – Vishwanath Bhat, Sadashiva Moolya members of Nallur Gram Panchayath, Sulochana, Shankar Poojary and Sumathi Poojari visited the deceased house.
As Puttamma is a single woman, and her son was the only earning member in the family, Tahshildar Babu Devadiga gave her a cheque of one lakh rupees under Natural disaster compensation fund and 10,000 under BPL Card to Puttamma Bhandarthi for funeral and other purpose.
It is said that Puttamm, who lost her only son has been psychologically affected. She has two more daughters, who are married but her son was the only one she could depend on.
