Udupi: The second round of Pulse Polio immunization drive for children under the age of 0-5 was held on Sunday, February 23.

A statement from the Udupi District Health and Family Welfare Department said 93 per cent progress has been registered this time with 81932 out of the targeted 88199 children administered Polio drops.
The talukwise statistics is as follows : Udupi Taluk – 37280 out of 41345 children ( 90% ), Kundapur Taluk -29997 out of 31081 children ( 97% ), Karkala Taluk – 14655 out of 15773 (93%).
Vinay Kumar Sorake Udupi district in-charge minister administered Polio drops to a child as part of the inaugural of the second phase of the drive. ZP CEO Kanagavalli, Health Officer Dr. Ram Chandra Bayari, Assistant Rotary Governor Mahesh Kumar, President of Inner wheel Radhika Laxminarayan and others were present.
