Ullal : Two  workers of Bihar origin met a tragic end  when they were run over by a train at Tokkottu Olapete on January 16, Thursday evening.

The deceased are Mohammad Tahil (28) and Mohin (25). They were working on contract basis under a company which has been assigned the  electric pole works on the Shornur- Mangalore railway line. The mishap took place when the two were heading towards Tokkottu   and walking in between two railway tracks at around 6.15 pm after completing their work.

When they heard the sound of the Malabar Express proceeding from Mangalore they stepped on to another track. But for their misfortune, the Chennai-Mangalore train which was coming from the opposite direction brushed past them, seriously injuring both of them.  If Tahim died on the spot due to head injuries, Mohin died while being taken to the Deralakatte hospital. He too had suffered injuries in his head.

Railway Police have registered a case.
