Kanakapura : A bike rider was killed in a head-on  collision  between  his two-wheeler and a KSRTC bus on the Sangama Road here on January 26, Sunday afternoon.

The deceased is Chethana Shivakumar (27), a resident of JP Nagara, Bangalore.  It is learnt, he had come to the town for a picnic with friends on  Sunday. He was working in HP Company. The mishap took place when he was on his way back home.

Shivakumar who had sustained grave injuries died in the hospital.

Meanwhile, local residents who point out that the number of accidents at the spot was on the rise have urged the authorities to initiate suitable remedial measures. The road is very narrow and  has curves giving scope for accidents. The public have urged the authorities to put up  speed breakers as well as warning sign boards.
