Bengaluru: Big Boss reality show winner and actor Olle Hudga Pratham has offered a role in his next movie to renowned Kannada actor K S Ashwath’s son Shanker Ashwath who is in the news for turning cab driver due to lack of offers.

On December 31, several media channels published the news of Shanker Ashwath working as a private cab driver in Bengaluru. Following the news, Kannada actor Jaggesh announced Rs 1 lakh to the actor and also promised a job to him. Now young actor Pratham has offered a role in his next movie ‘Pratham Buildup’.

Pratham has also handed over a blank cheque as advance payment for his role. However, senior actor Shanker Ashwath has refused to take the blank cheque and instead has asked to provide the amount to be paid for his given role.

Pratham also shared this news on social media. “Senior actor Shanker Ashwath will be playing a key role in my next movie and has been given a callsheet of seven days for the shoot.”

Shanker Ashwath following repeated setbacks in his life post his father’s death, took up driving as profession. Due to lack of offers in movies and serials, he joined ‘Uber’ as driver in Bengaluru.

“Yes, I have joined Uber. I am not at all ashamed to say this. In fact, I feel proud to call myself a driver as driving is a noble profession. I don’t want sympathy from anyone. My father’s shraddh (a ritual where a son performs homage to his deceased parents) is coming up and I don’t have money to organise that. I chose to earn and perform my father’s shraadh with my own money. I have acted in many films and television serials, but I have never begged anyone for money. Many people from the industry have stood by me and family in bad times. Being Ashwath’s son I feel proud of myself that I am earning money through hard work,” one of the leading portal quoted Shanker saying.
