
Bengaluru: The Central government has canceled the license of 133 B.Ed colleges, including 29 of Karnataka. This apart, 28 colleges of Maharashtra, 20 of Tamil Nadu and 17 of Madhya Pradesh have also lost their licenses.
Sources in the government said that the action has been taken for not following the rules and guidelines of National Council for Teachers’ Education (NCTE)
The NCTE license has been canceled for the following colleges from the year 2016-17, clarified Union HRD State Minister Upendra Kushwaha. The Central government has already declared that it will not issue any new license for the B.Ed colleges.
