Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, three children aged 7 to 10 years were chained by their father and teacher for refusing to go to Madarasa in HSR layout, Bengaluru.

Father of three kids, Siraj Wahaab(35) along with Mubarak Moulasaab, 25, teacher at the madrasa took all the three brothers to a mosque at Parangipalya in HSR Layout to give them a ‘mild punishment’ and tied their legs using an iron chain.

An officer investigating the case, said, “Following the information, a team of policemen in plain clothes was sent to the mosque to confirm the veracity of the information. After the policemen confirmed the news, a police sub-inspector in mufti went inside the mosque and released the boys from their chains. After recovering the chains and the locks, the policemen spoke to the boys and found out that they were brothers and were tied up by their teacher. The teacher was immediately taken into custody. Following the teacher’s statements, Wahaab, the father of the three boys, was arrested.”

“Wahaab and the teacher have been booked under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, and will be punished for wrongful confinement under section 342 of the Indian Penal Code. Both of them were arrested on the same day. The method Wahaab used -forcing his sons to study -is illegal. The teacher, on his part, should have orally scared the boys instead of illegally confining them by tying their legs with chains. It is not clear how long the three boys have been undergoing the punishment.

The incident came to light after a local saw the boys crying and reported the matter to us. In all likelihood the three brothers might be punished again by their father after his release. The case will be further heard by a court,” the officer added.

The boys were then sent to the state boys home on Hosur Road and Childen welfare committee has been roped in to counsel the children. Following inhuman behaviour of the duo, HSR Layout police have arrested them.
