Six held in Bengaluru for double murder

Bengaluru: The city police on Tuesday detained six persons said to be involved in a shocking double murder case on Sunday, July 31.

Sand dealers Asghar and Aslam were hacked to death on Sunday night near a hotel at Kumaraswamy Layout by a rival gang of about 12 to 15 people. The police refused to spell out details about the arrested persons as it is yet to confirm whether they were involved in the case or not.

Two others were also involved in the incident. Both the gang members were history sheeters in KS Layout and Banashankari police limits.

The deceased were residents of Ilias Nagar and were into sand mafia from many years.

It may be said that the area of the murder and its surroundings are a den for such sand mafia dealings. As many as 30 murders were witnessed in last 10 years, including the murder of a BBMP Corporator.
