Bangalore: The state government has taken the issue of parading a woman naked and shunning out of the limits of her native village, by the supporters of the former state minister and MLA Balachandra Jarakiholi, in Tapati village of Gokak district, said CM Siddaramaiah.  He also assured harsh punishment to those who were involved in the incident.

The woman who faced this ordeal informed CM Siddaramaiah during Janata Darshan, peoples interactive meet held at his home office “Krishna,” that she had complained to electioneering Commission about illegal selling of liquor during the elections.  The supporters of MLA Balachandra have paraded her naked and dumped her off the limits of their village.  Despite she complained to the local police, they did not take any action for the mere reason that accused were supporters of MLA Jarakiholi.

“Let whoever may be the perpetrators and enjoy political clout, they will be dealt with out mercy. The police will probe the issue,’ said CM Siddaramaiah.

CM Siddaramaiah instructed IGP M N Reddy to take strict action against those involved in atrocity on the hapless woman.

Addressing the media persons after Janata Darshan programme, CM Siddaramaiah said that there have been lapses on the part of prison officers on the great escape of psycho killer Jaishankar and ordered to take stringent action on those connived with escapee.
