Bangalore : Opposition JD(S) leader in the Assembly HD Kumaraswamy has threatened the government of disrupting the Belgaum Assembly session if the government failed to announce suitable support price for farm produce.
Speaking to reporters here, he said the farmers of the state are distraught due to drought and floods alike. The problems are driving many farmers to suicide, he said and urged the government to rush to the aid of the farmers by immediately constituting an Agricultural Price Commission as announced in the budget as well as the Congress election manifesto.
He alleged that though the state government had announced over 60 schemes during its first six months in tenure, all of them have been publicity gimmicks with no funds released. The government must immediately announce support price for farm produce lest the assembly session will not be allowed to be held, he warned.
Kumaraswamy said he will not give more importance to Shadi Bhagya and study tour for Ahinda students. He said he has travelled all across the state and has written letters to the DC seeking information regarding agriculture, revenue and forest department However, no information is provided despite me writing a letter and personally speaking to the DC over telephone, Kumaraswamy alleged.
