Strengthening Aadhaar Centers in Bengaluru City

Bengaluru: With many Government schemes now linked to Aadhaar, there is a huge rush at Aadhaar enrolment centers. In view of this, the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR) e-governance in co-ordination with Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is setting up Aadhaar Update Centers in all ward offices of BBMP.

To reduce the congestion in Bangalore One (B1) Centers and to make more touch points to public, Rajeev Chawla, Additional Chief Secretary (e-Gov) has spoken to Manjunath Prasad, Commissioner, BBMP to allocate space to set up Aadhaar Update Centres in all BBMP Ward Offices.

The BBMP Commissioner has agreed to the proposal. Now, Directorate of Electronic Delivery of Citizen Services (EDCS), a Department under DPAR, e-Governance is gearing up to roll out update centres in all BBMP ward offices.

The EDCS is also planning to strengthen its B1 Centres for Aadhaar Enrolments and Updates by adding additional kits. Preparations have already started to train and certify operators. Shortly more B1 centres will have 2-3 counters exclusively for Aadhaar related services.

The EDCS Directorate along with Centre for e-Govenance is also contemplating home based enrolments for physically handicapped and old aged people who cannot more. Citizens can reach through following channels for Aadhaar related issues.
