Bengaluru: After the farm loan waivers, the state government likely take a decision on waiving off higher education loans of students belonging to poor families.

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy informed that, as per the proposal, he has already directed the higher education department officials to collect details of unpaid amount on education loans of students from poor families.

“According to the information I received, thousands of students who completed their higher education with the help of education loans are struggling to pay them off as they are not getting good jobs. The state government wants to extend its support to these students,” he stated.
