Bangalore : In a shocking murder reported from the Silicon city,  the 49 year old wife of a scientist at the Aeronautical Development Establishment under DRDO was found  dead  in her residence with her throat slit with a sharp object on March 10, Monday. The house was located at the DRDO quarters at Byappanahalli.

The  deceased is Rajani Rajbala, wife of Pakhiya Das, Scientist ‘D’ at the ADE. It was a neighbour who first noticed Rajani lying in a pool of blood. The couple were staying the III floor of the F wing of DRDO quarters along with their son and daughter. If Rajani’s daughter was a college student, her son was pursuing emgineering in Chennai. She was alone in the house when the murder took place.

Police suspect that the killer after committing the heinous act had escaped through the rear of the quarters going by the statement of a  resident of the ground floor who heard the sound of someone jumping and saw a man walking away towards the road. Suspecting some foul play, he rushed upstairs and found Rajbala dead.

As there was no sign of forced entry into the house, the police suspect the murder was the act of some known person. There has been no theft from the house. The CCTV footages of the building are being  scrutinized and investigations are underway.
