Bangalore : The Congress high command which has released its first list of 14 candidates in Karnataka, is yet undecided on the candidates for the remaining 14 constituencies. Meanwhile, rumours are afloat that Union Minister and sitting MP from Chikkaballapur constituency, Veerappa Moily was unlikely to get a ticket this time.
It is learnt, there is hectic lobbying for Congress tickets proving a big head ache for the high command. It is nothing but an irony that Moily who ensured the foundation laying of the controversial Yettinahole Project in a haste, just with an eye on votes, is now struggling for a ticket.
If rumours are to be believed, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has himself written to Party President Sonia Gandhi against giving ticket to Moily. It is believed that the FIR filed against Veerappa Moily by the erstwhile Delhi Government over Reliance scam and the intelligence reports that Moily has lost the trust of the people of his constituency, has come in the way of the party choosing him as a candidate.
If at all the party was interested in giving him another chance, then his name would have found a mention in the first list itself. Sources say the party was likely to consider the name of former minister V Muniappa from Chikkaballapura.
