Bengaluru: Former chief minister SM Krishna has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to set up a “Knowledge City” in Bengaluru.

In a letter addressed to the PM, Krishna requested him to set up a “Knowledge City” in conjunction with the “Investment City” that is coming up on the city’s outskirts, along the International Airport Road.

“Bengaluru has become an investment hub for Research and Development (R&D) companies. The city has a vast pool of talent. Keeping in mind the same, the Central Government must think of such a city,” he stated in the letter.

Krishna further wrote, “The Central Government can set up the Knowledge City through a Special Purpose Vehicle.”

He also pointed out that Bengaluru was essential in order to reap rich dividends from the demographic advantage that the country is presently enjoying.
