Bengaluru: Following the fear of violent protests by the Congress and the JDS leaders in protest against the arrest of former minister and Congress strongman DK Shivakumar, the Ramanagar district administration announced holiday for schools and colleges across the district.

According to the authorities, the entire district is now witnessing a bundh. All the business establishments are shut down and additional police forces from all the districts of the Southern Karnataka have been moved to Ramanagar.

According to the sources, in Kanakapura the situation is very tense. Some unidentified individuals are out in the open brandishing clubs and sticks, threatening people. The miscreants vandalised several establishments including BJP taluk office, said sources.
Keeping the safety of the general public, specifically the students in mind, the district administration has declared holiday to schools and colleges.
